Wherever you want to go, IANTD can take you there!! IANTD operates on a training philosophy known as WATER: Wisdom, Attitude, Training, Experience, and Repetition. Because, a relaxed confident diver is a safe diver who will enjoy exploring inner-space and pursue diving adventures for a lifetime.
This course includes:
- Open Water paper textbook and workbook – must read and complete the workbook prior to beginning classroom session
- 2 classroom sessions
- 2 pool sessions
- 4-6 open water training dives
How deep will I be able to dive after completing my IANTD Open Water Diver certification?
You’ll be certified to dive up 60 ft in open water with a buddy.
How old do I need to be to register for IANTD Open Water Diver?
You must be at least 10 years of age or older.
What do I need to participate in the IANTD Open Water Diver course?
We recommend purchasing your own scuba mask, snorkel, SMB, and reel. Stop in our store room and we’ll help you find the perfect fit for your face, or take a look around our online store before you check out to see what we offer.
Other scuba equipment you will need to rent or purchase:
- Wetsuit or Drysuit (Drysuit certification required)
- Scuba Fins
- Gear Bag
Plus! Don’t forget your towel and swim suit.
Where and when is all this going to happen?
Classroom sessions are held at the Port Deco Diver store on Saturday and Sunday mornings beginning promptly at 10:30 a.m. In these sessions we will review the course workbook, become familiar with your gear set up, and take the test on Saturday prior to the first pool session. Please come prepared by reading your course materials and completing your course workbook prior to the beginning of the first class session.
Pool sessions are held on the same day as your classroom sessions beginning at 5:30 p.m. (times and locations subject to change on availability)
Open water training dives will be done in a quarry, inland lake, or can be combined with one of our local trips to Munising Bay, MI in September or Mermet Springs, IL in December. Location for local training dives will be determined based on weather. Please reserve your entire day for your training dives. Locations may be up to 3 hours drive time from Port Washington, WI. You must reschedule your training dives a minimum of 1 week in advance or you will have to pay for a new training session.
